The Pre-Chiropractic undergraduate program contains classes and activities that prepare students for entrance into the Texas Chiropractic College and Parker Chiropractic College. The program covers foundational subjects in human physiology and the sciences and exposes students to chiropractic work.

The Pre-Engineering undergraduate program sets students up for success as an engineer with two years of preliminary study at HCU, introducing them to the core components of engineering fields. The track includes math and physics, ultimately preparing them for study in a specialized engineering division.

The Pre-Health Coursework will academically prepare students for a health profession school (i.e. Medical, Physician Associate, Dental, Pharmacy, or Graduate School in the Biological or Chemical Sciences). This coursework does not lead to a degree or a certificate.

The Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental undergraduate program contains classes and activities designed to prepare students for entry into medical or dental schools. Activities include participation in appropriate pre-professional student organizations, trips to medical and dental schools, service projects, and workshops offered the Health Professions Office.

The Pre-Optometry program covers foundational subjects in mathematics, psychology, ethics and the sciences. Graduates are prepared for further study in the field of optometry. HCU’s Pre-Optometry Professional Society exposes students to the world of optometry work, academia and volunteerism.

The undergraduate Pre-Pharmacy program offers an academic beginning for work as a pharmacist. Subjects studied include chemistry, physics and behavioral science. Potential career outlets for pharmacy include the roles of pharmacist, clinical specialist, professor and pharmaceutical industry professional.

The Pre-Physical Therapy undergraduate program provides a basis for the completion of physical therapy programs. Classes include physiology, advanced anatomy, physics, medical terminology, psychology, sociology and oral communication. Physical therapists may work in many settings ranging from hospitals to outpatient contexts.

The Pre-Physician Assistant undergraduate program helps prepare students for study in Physician Assistant (PA) programs. Coursework includes math, the sciences and psychology. The PA profession is one of the most in-demand career areas; PAs provide primary care, and help alleviate physician shortages.
