Normal Operations Resume on June 1

Tuesday, March 30, 2021

The Husky Strong Task Force is happy to announce that as of Tuesday, June 1, 2021 we will be moving forward from COVID-19. This decision is based on recommendations from the CDC and state/local officials, as well as the ubiquitous availability of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Therefore, starting on June 1, masking and distancing requirements will be optional on campus. We also look forward to bringing employees back to campus with doors open and offices available to meet with students in person again. Those who choose to do so are more than welcome to continue to wear masks; but thankfully, we will no longer have to require masks for everyone. Summer school classes will still primarily be offered as originally scheduled in online and/or remote formats. However, there will be some fully in-person summer school courses as well; faculty teaching those classes this summer will have the option to require masks during class.

Commencement, scheduled at 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, at Husky Stadium, will still fall under our current spring semester COVID-19 protocols. Therefore, social distancing and masks will be required at the commencement ceremonies for all participants, graduates, and guests.

As previously announced, we will resume fully in-person classes and campus occupancy standards this fall. This summer, we look forward to hosting more camps and campus visitors, as well as facilitating our own internal orientation and summer launch events. We are eager to serve new, incoming students this summer who have never had an opportunity to visit the campus!

The Husky Strong Task Force will continue to meet and monitor the situation as we move forward and work diligently to safely bring everyone back to campus!

Thank you and God bless.
