Gift Card for Vaccinated Huskies

We are so grateful to our entire Husky community for the grace, patience and understanding that has been exhibited the past year as we all faced the pandemic and its challenges. We are so excited to return to campus on Monday, August 30 with the ability to have all the face-to-face activities that we celebrate as part of our HCU tradition.
To encourage all students, faculty, and staff to protect themselves and others by being vaccinated, we are announcing a voluntary opt-in program, the Husky Vaccination Incentive Program (VIP). Through October 15, ALL students, faculty, and staff who choose to voluntarily participate as a Husky VIP will receive a $50 gift card to the HCU Store!
Go online to report your vaccination information and upload a picture of your official vaccination card. All respondents who are fully vaccinated and self-report by October 15 will receive a $50 bookstore gift card which can be used towards the cost of books, Husky gear or other merchandise in the store. Gift cards for Husky VIP participants will be distributed during the week of October 25.
Additionally, all student respondents will be included in a drawing during Convocation on October 27 for the following:
| PLATINUM PRIZE for one student | HCU pays tuition and fees for fall 2021 and spring 2022 semesters* |
| GOLD PRIZE for two students | HCU pays tuition and fees for spring 2022 semester* |
| SILVER PRIZE for three students | HCU pays fees for fall 2021 and spring 2022 semesters |
The data suggests that vaccination remains the best intervention for reliable protection. If you have already been vaccinated, thank you. If you have not, we sincerely recommend that you familiarize yourself with the pertinent information, consult with your doctor, and seriously consider being vaccinated. CVS and Memorial Hermann Southwest, next to campus, are offering free, walk-in vaccinations. Or you can simply Google search: COVID vaccines near me to find any number of providers close to you. Should you choose to get vaccinated, you can then follow the steps above to become a Husky VIP participant.
