SUMMARY:HCU Music Faculty Recital
DESCRIPTION:The  Polish Duo Presents: “Myths\,\nFables & Fairytales” \n  \nJoin us for an exciting concert featuring the\npassionate musicians of The Polish Duo: \nDominika Dancewicz\, violin  \nAlina Klimaszewska\, piano  \n  \nThe artists present the iconic “Myths” by Karol Szymanowski – three musical fables inspired\nby Greek mythology: \n“The Spring of Arethusa” \n“Narcissus” \n“Dryads and Pan” \n  \nThe colorful\, imaginative score by\nSzymanowski\, composed in 1915\, achieved an instant fame and admiration because\nof the innovative sound effects and technical demands it presents for both\nmusicians. This iconic piece has been stimulating the imagination of\ngenerations of music lovers!  \n  \nAlongside the “Myths” The Duo will\nperform the epic Violin Sonata in A minor (1885) by IgnacyJan Paderewski\, who\nwas a towering figure not only in world’s pianism\, but also in world’s\npolitics. This piece\, composed after experiencing a deep personal loss\, is full\nof stormy\, romantic gestures\, and sweeping storytelling.
