Commuter Life & The Collegium
At HCU, where over 55% of our students commute, The Collegium offers a dedicated space designed to be a home away from home. Located in the Brown Student Center, right above Chick-Fil-A, this commuter lounge features a full-sized fridge, microwave, lockers, TV, and a quiet study area, providing a perfect retreat before, between, and after classes.
Morris Family Center for Law & Liberty
Inspired by Philadelphia’s Independence Hall, the Morris Family Center for Law & Liberty at HCU is dedicated to fostering a deep understanding of liberty, constitutionalism, and free enterprise. The Center’s mission includes:
- Educating future leaders on foundational principles.
- Supporting educators with workshops on American history.
- Defending American values through the study of founding documents.
- Inspiring discussions on the importance of these principles in a free society.
The Center features a student lounge with scenic views and a Presidential Gallery equipped for events. It offers educational programs such as faculty lectures, book groups, and field trips for students, enhancing their understanding of the nation’s history and ideals.
The Baugh Center
Houston Christian University’s main dining hub, the Baugh Center, offers a diverse menu of fresh, healthy options, from breakfast waffles to made-to-order entrées. Recently upgraded with a modern interior, it provides a vibrant space for students to dine and connect. With a new app, you can even choose your favorite songs while enjoying your meal. Additional dining options include Java City, P.O.D. Express, and Chick-fil-A.
Freshman Village
Freshman Village at HCU is home to our vibrant on-campus community, offering first-year students a welcoming and engaging environment. The Mest Residence Hall, part of the Women’s Residence College, features two-bedroom suites with shared bathrooms and spacious common areas for socializing or study.
The Honors College
The Honors College at Houston Christian University is a unique educational community that fosters wisdom and character through rigorous academics. Built on a foundation of reading, writing, and critical thinking, the program challenges students to reach new heights in their education while fulfilling the liberal arts core requirements for any degree. Open to all majors, the Honors College welcomes transfer students and offers a path to graduate with distinction.
