Stated Values

The university represents its core convictions in the Ten Pillars 2030 document and in the current Five Imperatives  document, listed as follows:

  1. Growing Size and Place
  2. Preserving, Strengthening, and Integrating the Foundational Liberal Arts Disciplines of a Comprehensive Christian University
  3. Renewing Community Life and Culture
  4. Embracing the Marketplace
  5. Planning for Continuous Improvement

The Dunham College of Business supports these commitments by delivering business education to support student endeavors in a competitive marketplace. See our strategic plan for more information.

The values of the Dunham College of Business are presented below:

  • Faith integration: business planning and operations fit within the broader frame of spiritual realities and as elements of a holistic, created order that brings glory to God and flourishing to humankind.
  • Business as mission: alumni provide interpretation and guidance in social and business environments leading to ethical relations among people, concern for the physical environment, and redemptive systems of leadership/governance.
  • Responsiveness to markets: curriculum contributing meaningfully and significantly to local economic needs, expressed by employers.
  • Identity enhancement: stakeholders fit and find meaning by association, freely partaking of our productive work and making unique contributions in agreement with DCOB’s organizational values and commitments.
  • Personal responsibility and accountability: learning and community engagement requirements are clearly defined and assessed to facilitate personal growth intellectually, socially, and spiritually.
