Don Janssen, CEO & President – Planned Community Developers (Panelist)

Don has been with PCD for 43 years and has been involved in all aspects of development beginning with the 10K acre master planned First Colony community. Don’s expertise includes master planning, land sales, leasing and complex mixed-use-oriented development transactions and he has personally been involved with the development of some 3M SF. In addition, as a long-standing and active member of the community, Don maintains strong governmental relationships and working knowledge of critical components within local jurisdictions of benefit to achieving development goals.

Laura Sellingsloh Brown, Senior Director – JLL Capital Markets (Panelist)

Laura is a Senior Director in the Houston office of JLL Capital Markets, Americas. She joined as part of the HFF acquisition with extensive experience in commercial real estate and finance. She specializes in all areas of finance with a focus on real estate investment banking and equity/debt placement throughout the United States. Laura joined HFF in July 2015. Prior to joining the firm, she attended The University of Texas at Austin where she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration. She is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Texas. Outside of JLL, Ms. Sellingsloh previously volunteered on the River Oaks Baptist School Alumni Board and is actively involved in NAIOP and ULI Houston.

Ted C. Jones, Chief Economist, Senior Vice President – Stewart Title Guaranty Company (Economist)

Ted C. Jones is an internationally recognized real estate economist and served for 26+ years as the Chief Economist–Senior Vice President for Stewart Title Guaranty Company He also served as Stewart’s Director of Investor Relations from 1997-2017, a Fortune 1000 Company NYSE-STC. Jones earned a PhD in finance with a minor in statistics and a master’s degree in land economics and real estate from Texas A&M University. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University.

Prior to joining Stewart, Ted served as chief economist at Texas A&M University’s Real Estate Center. Jones has completed appraisals and complex property analyses in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, the Caribbean, and the United States. In the past 40 years he has typically delivered more than 150 economic presentations annually.

He served as chairman of the Houston Association of Realtors® in 2004.

Roger Grogory, Founder, CEO- Serac Capital (Panelist)

Roger Gregory is the founder and CEO of Serac Capital Partners and is responsible for overseeing the strategy and operations of the company. Prior to founding Serac, Roger was a partner in PM Realty Group and served as the President of Investments, where he oversaw all acquisition, development, asset management, accounting, corporate finance, IT and strategy functions. Roger led the effort to acquire and develop $1.5 billion of office, multifamily and mixed-use assets in multiple major markets. Prior to joining PM Realty Group, Roger was a senior manager at Arthur Andersen. He is a CPA (inactive).

Roger holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BS in Accounting from Louisiana College. Roger is married to Annette, and they have two boys, Collin, a sophomore at Texas A&M and Evan, a senior at the St. John’s School.

Roger is a member of the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter of YPO.  Roger is also the board chair of SEARCH Homeless Services.  He is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys running, mountain biking, snow skiing, scuba diving, ice climbing and mountaineering.

Stewart Morris III, VP of Finance & Investments – Stewart Security Capital (Moderator)

Stewart Morris III is Vice President of Finance & Investments at Stewart Security Capital, a private investment company where his family have grown a balanced portfolio of CRE assets, consisting of multi-family, industrial, office, rail, and retail.  Prior to joining Stewart Security Capital, Stewart was a Commercial Real Estate agent at Marcus & Millichap.  A native Houstonian, Stewart received his BBA from Baylor University.  Outside of work, Stewart coaches the Rice University Rugby team, continuing to put his rugby skills to use, after competing for a National Rugby Championship at Baylor.  He also serves on HCU’s Dunham College of Business Advisory Board. Stewart is excited to be engaged to be married to Haley Jo Williams in 2025!
