Teaching Focus

Dr. Liang’s teaching focus is finance and economics. His research interests include integration of finance and the Scriptures, financial markets and institutions, corporate finance, and the integration of faith and the teaching and practice of modern finance.

Publications

Dr. Liang’s publications and professional presentations have included work on the biblical perspectives on the 2007 global financial crisis, biblical principles and corporate finance, financial pedagogy, financial market reforms in China and the role of railways in the economic development of pre-WWII China.

Additional Information

While at HCU, Dr. Liang has served on the Professional Growth Committee, Search Committee for the Dean of the School of Business, and the Committee on Christianity and the Arts.  Dr. Liang also oversees the Center for Christianity in Business at the Dunham College of Business, where initiatives are undertaken to equip and encourage Christian business leaders to carry their faith into organizations by developing and delivering a distinctively Christian worldview.

Prior to his joining HCU, Dr. Liang spent over 25 years in industry, where he has served major corporations in roles ranging from chief economist to treasurer to chief financial and operating officer. Dr. Liang led a successful consulting practice on corporate transactions immediately prior to his arrival at HCU.
