Dr. Eric Van Caemelbecke, professor of chemistry, and three HBU students, William Osterloh, Gabriel Galindo, and Michelle Yates, presented their research, “Synthesis, spectroscopic, and electrochemical characterization and reactivity with nitrogenous bases of mixed-ligands diruthenium complexes” at a poster session at the American Chemical Society Regional Meeting in Galveston on November 11. The purpose of the research is to develop new drugs able to interact with DNA and be potential antitumor agents.
