Dr. Vickey M. Giles, assistant professor of Education, presented the session “Can All-Day Pre-K Change Lives?” at the Texas Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (TXASCD) on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, in Houston. The session included information about the implementation of full-day pre-kindergarten in a Houston area school district, the impact of the full-day curriculum on students and their families, and preliminary literacy skills results via longitudinal data. Co-presenters were Dr. Joan Bowman of Schreiner University, and Dr. Denise Mustin and Mr. Chris Dickson, Early Childhood Academy principals in Sheldon Independent School District.
