Unsung Heroes by Lionsgate Films

Unsung Hero: Spoiler-Free Movie Review

Unsung Hero, a major motion picture, chronicles the lives of Australian music producer David Smallbone, his wife Helen (Daisy Betts), and their children. Joel Smallbone of for KING and COUNTRY fame, directs and stars as his dad, David, delivering a powerful and heartfelt performance that carries the audience through joys and triumphs, as well as tragedies and sorrows.

The characters share such on-screen chemistry as a familial unit that it is easy to become immersed in this remarkable true-life story and become invested in their plight. The story pulls no punches and is anything but predictable.

As a fan of for KING and COUNTRY, I would have gone to see a concert movie or listened to a feel-good testimony, but they delivered so much more. Although working in the music industry and traveling from Australia to Tennessee may be unfamiliar territory to many, faith and family remain accessible avenues for the audience.  UnsungHero is a highly relatable story, filled with great messages and hard truths for Christian and secular moviegoers alike. I consider Unsung Hero a must-see movie.
