Aug. 7, 2025 SHARE: Houston Texas, Aug. 7, 2025 – Houston Christian University (HCU) is proud to announce the launch of its fully online Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (MSAI) program, offered through the College of Science and Engineering (COSE). Beginning in the Fall 2025 semester, this cutting-edge graduate program will equip students with the technical expertise, ethical foundation and strategic insight required to lead in the rapidly advancing field of artificial intelligence (AI). With a rigorous 33-credit curriculum, the MSAI program cultivates deep expertise in core AI disciplines such as machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, computer vision, robotics and deep learning. Delivered entirely online, the program offers students the flexibility to balance academic pursuits with personal and professional responsibilities—making advanced education in AI accessible from anywhere in the world. “The MSAI program will provide students who already come from a technical background with advanced knowledge and skills in AI algorithms, machine learning, neural networks, and data analysis. Program graduates will be prepared to engage in cutting-edge research and provide leadership in this field, grounded in a foundation of ethical AI practices,” said Dr. Katie Evans, Dean of the College of Science and Engineering. Graduate students will complete end-to-end projects and a final capstone thesis, gaining valuable experience in solving practical AI challenges while enhancing their knowledge and technical skills through courses ranging from Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision to Data Mining and Big Data Analytics, Robotics and AI Ethics and Society. HCU’s innovative graduate program integrates AI theory with ethical principles rooted in Christian tradition. The program combines hands-on learning with real-world application, preparing the next generation of AI innovators to shape the landscape of this emerging technology for years to come. The MSAI program is intentionally designed with the student at the center of every decision, shared Dr. Zadok Hakim, Associate Provost for Online Technology. “Our mission is to ensure that graduates not only gain a strong foundation in artificial intelligence, but also develop the practical expertise to apply AI concepts immediately in their careers and address real-world industry challenges from day one,” said Dr. Hakim. Graduates of the MSAI program will be equipped to make meaningful contributions across diverse sectors, including healthcare, finance, education, defense, and more. A low-residency format of the program will be offered to graduate students pending approval of the Department of Homeland Security.
