Returning to school as a non-traditional student can feel overwhelming. Between career responsibilities, family commitments, and personal doubts, the decision to pursue an online degree often comes with questions: Is this the right program? Can I really do this? Who’s going to help me figure this out?

At HCU, you’re not just a number in an admissions system. Behind every application is a dedicated team member genuinely invested in your success — people like Brittany Rose who understand that your educational journey is deeply personal and uniquely yours.
For Brittany Rose, the assistant director of online admissions in HCU’s online division, the process starts with a simple but powerful question: What do you see yourself doing every day? “I usually start out by asking if the student has a specific career goal in mind,” Rose says.
“Then discuss what programs we offer that can get them moving towards that career.” For those still unsure, she investigates their interests further and even recommends the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Outlook Handbook as a resource to learn more about different career opportunities and job market outlooks.
“I’m helping students move forward on a new path to a career that could not only impact their lives, but also those that the students encounter.”
Brittany Rose’s commitment shines brightest during challenging moments when technical hurdles threaten to derail progress. She recalls one graduate student facing registration issues while simultaneously applying for her doctoral program. “After some back and forth with her and the department, we were able to get her registered and through the admissions process,” Rose says. After getting accepted into the doctoral program, the student reached out sharing her excitement and appreciation. “Hearing her excitement and plans for once she graduated encouraged me to remember how important our jobs are by helping students move forward,” Rose says.
What sets Brittany Rose apart is how her faith guides every student interaction. Having faced her own struggles and doubts while in school, she reminds students that God is always in control. “No matter how long it may take them to return to school or how long it takes to graduate, everything will work itself out,” Rose says. “God’s timing is never wrong, and you will make it through any challenges that you face.”
When she’s not helping students navigate their educational paths, you’ll find Rose catching up on Grey’s Anatomy, spending time with family or recharging at the beach, listening to the waves roll in. She understands that her faith and taking time to decompress makes her a better guide for students facing their own stress and challenges.
Rose came to HCU on the recommendation of colleagues who spoke highly of the university, but it’s the people who keep her passionate about staying. “I work with a great group of people in the online division,” she says. When you reach out to HCU online admissions, you’re connecting with someone like Brittany Rose: genuine people who believe in transformation through education and are ready to champion your success every step of the way.
