HCU Music Faculty Recital October 3 @ 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. The Polish Duo Presents: “Myths, Fables & Fairytales” Join us for an exciting concert featuring the passionate musicians of The Polish Duo: Dominika Dancewicz, violin Alina Klimaszewska, piano The artists present the iconic “Myths” by Karol Szymanowski – three musical fables inspired by Greek mythology: “The Spring of Arethusa” “Narcissus” “Dryads and Pan” The colorful, imaginative score by Szymanowski, composed in 1915, achieved an instant fame and admiration because of the innovative sound effects and technical demands it presents for both musicians. This iconic piece has been stimulating the imagination of generations of music lovers! Alongside the “Myths” The Duo will perform the epic Violin Sonata in A minor (1885) by IgnacyJan Paderewski, who was a towering figure not only in world’s pianism, but also in world’s politics. This piece, composed after experiencing a deep personal loss, is full of stormy, romantic gestures, and sweeping storytelling.
