Our Medical Humanities major is designed to explore medicine, medical care and the health-related professions from a number of perspectives. This is an interdisciplinary academic course of study that guides students through a wide range of learning experiences to better prepare them for vocations in the rapidly expanding healthcare environment.

Program Overview

The Medical Humanities major provide another academic path for students pursing preparation for health-related fields and/or professional training beyond an undergraduate degree. The Medical Humanities major is a 32-hour plan that contains a Core of four courses in Ethics, Biology, Statistics and Writing. The remaining seven courses are electives chosen from a menu of classes from Christianity, Humanities, Philosophy and Psychology. The Medical Humanities minor degree plan (20 hours) contains the same four courses in its core and then requires nine hours of electives. Courses that students have already taken in related fields can be applied to either the Medical Humanities major or minor.
