Additional Information
Prior to coming to HCU, Dr. Ewest held various committees position within higher education including: Faculty Senate, Advisor for Phi Theta Kappa honor society, Academic Information Services, Committee Chair, Faculty Review, Director of online Health Care Supervisory Management Certificate and Associate of Applied Science Business Program Director.
Dr. Ewest received the Faculty of the Year in 2005, and was a finalist for the John O. Chellevold Teaching Excellence Award in 2011, 2013 and 2014.
Dr. Ewest has worked in higher education and has been as an organizational consulate since 1999. He has consulted with organizations pertaining to leadership development, strategy, ethics, diversity practices and fundraising. His research interests include: issues surrounding faith and work, leadership and pro-social behavior and leadership in social entrepreneurship. In addition to his duties at HCU teaching various management topics, he is currently working as a Visiting Research Collaborator with David Miller at Princeton University Faith and Work Initiative. Dr Ewest is a member of the Research Incubator team and the Communications Rep at large on the Executive Committee for Management Religion and Spiritualty interest group, Academy of Management. Dr Ewest is also a member of the Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME), Sustainability Mindset Think-tank, supporting the Global Compact of the United Nations. Before teaching in Higher Education, Dr. Ewest worked as a manager in fortune 500 company and worked as a district staff pastor and pastor of spiritual formation with the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
