The curmudgeon had to raise the white flag and admit defeat for the September 28 weekend. I had entertained notions of seeing “Ad Astra,” but a bad fall while at a doctor’s office kept me indoors during the weekend; the thought of trying to climb stairs inside the theater was just too much to contemplate. I didn’t even have the will to pull a DVD out of his archives. That should tell you something. And, to make matters worse, the curmudgeon didn’t even have a stack of papers to grade.
