HBU McNair Center to Host Fall 2019 Illumination Event

The McNair Center for Entrepreneurship & Free Enterprise at Houston Baptist University will host its Fall 2019 Illumination Event on Friday, Nov. 22, 2019, featuring special guest, Dr. Carl J. Schramm. The luncheon will be held at noon in the McNair Lighthouse Lab inside the Hinton Center; the speaker event will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Belin Chapel, inside the Morris Cultural Arts Center.

Dr. Carl Schramm is an internationally recognized leader in entrepreneurship, innovation and economic growth. Prior to joining the Syracuse University faculty in 2012, he spent a decade as president of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. The foundation grew into a global institution under Dr. Schramm’s leadership, becoming the largest private funder of economic research related to growth and innovation. Dr. Schramm holds both PhD and JD degrees. He is an accomplished author and will discuss his most recent work, “Burn the Business Plan: What Great Entrepreneurs Really Do,” and will explore what comprises an effective university center for entrepreneurship.
