HBU Gideon Institute Cohosts Adolescent Suicide Prevention Event

The HBU Gideon Institute of Christian Psychology and Counseling is cohosting “Secret Pain: Understanding Adolescent Suicide,” with Houston’s First Baptist Church. Parents, teachers, therapists, ministers and others are invited to learn more. Participants will become informed about creating conditions that lessen the risk of suicide, identifying the signs of possible suicide, treating the psychological and spiritual conditions that can predispose to suicide, and dealing with its aftermath, when it occurs.

Dr. Eric L. Johnson, director of HBU’s Gideon Institute of Christian Psychology and Counseling, and Dr. Matthew Stanford, director of The Hope and Healing Center, will address these topics the morning of Saturday, Feb. 29, at Houston’s First Baptist Church, 7401 Katy Freeway.
