Dr. Katie Alaniz, Assistant Professor of Education, was invited to present at the Technology and Curriculum Conference of Aldine on October 24, 2020, in Houston. Her presentation was entitled, “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work! Bringing Learning to Life with Collaborative Digital Storytelling,” and was created on the basis of the book, “Digital Media in Today’s Classrooms: The Potential for Meaningful Teaching, Learning, and Assessment.” This book was coauthored with Dr. Dawn Wilson, former Professor of Education, and Joshua Sikora, Assistant Professor of Cinema and New Media Arts, and was published by Rowman & Littlefield Education. This presentation was given in loving memory of Dr. Wilson, without whom this book would not have been written. Her life will always be remembered through her teaching, her writing, and especially the legacy carried on by those she so lovingly taught and mentored during her time spent at HBU.
