Houston Choral Society puts on 'A Very Virtual Christmas' Concert | HOUSTON LIFE | KPRC 2

Dr. Kevin Klotz, Director of Choral Activities and Assistant Professor of Music, was interviewed by KPRC’s “Houston Life” on the HBU campus regarding his community chorus, the Houston Choral Society, and how they are presenting their virtual Christmas concert this fall. Watch the full interview and hear a preview of one of their virtual choir recordings!

The Houston Choral Society’s “A Very Virtual Christmas Concert” premiered live on Saturday, Dec. 12. You can still watch the performance through their website (houstonchoral.org) and on their Facebook page (Facebook.com/houstonchoral) until January 1. The concert includes past performances, solos, and newly created virtual choir recordings.

Last semester, the Houston Choral Society combined with HBU’s Schola Cantorum and University Singers in a performance in Dunham Theater. Graduates from HBU’s Department of Music have sung (and are currently singing) in the Houston Choral Society.

The Houston Choral Society is also participating in a virtual choir collaboration concert with four Houston-area community choruses. This concert will be presented on Friday, Dec. 18. Details can be found on the Houston Choral Society website and Facebook page.
