With the 2023 Houston Mayoral Election fast approaching, KPRC 2, Telemundo Houston, Que Onda Magazine and The League of Women Voters will host a mayoral debate on the Houston Christian University campus. The debate will be broadcast on Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. from the Linda and Archie Dunham Theater in the Morris Cultural Arts Center.

The live broadcast will be moderated by KTMD’s Crystal Ayala and KPRC 2’s Daniella Guzman and will feature the race’s top five leading candidates in an hour-long debate. Featured mayoral candidates Annie “Mama” Garcia, Lee Kaplan, MJ Khan, U.S. Representative Sheila Jackson Lee and State Senator John Whitmire will share their vision for Houston’s future on the race’s key issues, including crime, city infrastructure, disaster preparation as well as equity and equality in housing and employment according to a KPRC 2 news report.

The debate will be available on the following streaming platforms: Samsung TV channel 1255, Roku channel 904, FireTV, XumoPlay, freevee and LocalNow.
