HCU’s previously announced non-conference slate remains the same, with trips to SMU, UTSA and Indiana State along with home matchups against Tarleton State and Louisiana Christian.
The Huskies will now open SLC play in head coach Jason Bachtel’s first season at home against the McNeese Cowboys on Oct. 5 at 6:00 p.m. followed by another home matchup on Oct. 12 at 2:00 p.m. against Southeastern.
The following week will be the team’s bye date with a trip to Nacogdoches, Texas to face newcomer Stephen F. Austin scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26. The next weekend the Huskies hit the road to take on UIW in San Antonio, Texas on Nov. 2 before returning to Husky Stadium to host defending SLC champion Nicholls on Nov. 9 at 2:00 p.m. for Homecoming.
HCU then closes out the campaign with a road matchup against Texas A&M-Commerce in Commerce, Texas on Nov. 16 at 1:00 p.m. and the season finale on its home turf at 2:00 p.m. on Nov. 23 against Northwestern State.
The Huskies are coming off a 2023 season in which the program posted its first winning season with a 6-5 overall record and a 4-3 mark in SLC play. The 2023 campaign also produced the first-ever player to be drafted from HCU in third round pick Jalyx Hunt.
