Oct. 7, 2025 SHARE: Houston Christian University (HCU) is proud to highlight Logan Henderson, a Navy veteran and Business Administration in Marketing major, whose journey reflects the balance of service, leadership and innovation that defines the Husky experience. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Logan transitioned to higher education in search of a university where he could pursue academics while balancing his family responsibilities. “Coming to HCU has been a turning point in my academic and professional journey,” Logan shared. “Early registration windows, timely financial aid, and smaller class sizes allowed me to engage fully in both my studies and student leadership.” That leadership found its home in the Husky Veteran Association (HVA), where Logan has served as Acting President for the past two semesters. During his tenure, the veteran student population at HCU has more than doubled. With this rapid growth came challenges in coordinating events and engaging members. Logan and his leadership team responded by adapting, pivoting and thinking creatively to ensure meaningful participation in both campus-wide and veteran-focused events. Looking to the future, Logan is preparing to lead a series of eight artificial intelligence (AI) workshops designed for the broader student body. These sessions will focus on merging innovation with practical application, giving students across disciplines tools to explore how AI can support learning, professional development and problem-solving. Logan’s academic journey has directly fueled his entrepreneurial pursuits. Through various marketing courses—such as Consumer Behavior and Principles of Marketing—he has been able to test and refine business strategies for his ventures, CarMetrics AI and Oomnee AI. Classroom assignments often became opportunities for constructive feedback, pushing him to strengthen his branding, messaging and market strategies. One of HCU student’s long-term goals is to see Oomnee become a flagship service provider for universities, and he hopes HCU can lead the way. “It would mean a great deal to see HCU bring this kind of innovation and service to students and the community,” he said. “The impact here could set a precedent that shapes how Oomnee grows throughout Texas and beyond.” For Logan, HCU is more than a university. It’s a place where faith, academics, leadership and entrepreneurship converge. “HCU has given me the tools, confidence, and community to grow,” he reflected. “It has been a blessing to learn, lead, and represent both our veteran community and our university as we continue to build.”
