Spiritual Life

Spiritual Life is at the crux of HCU’s mission as we seek to help students, faculty, and staff pursue a holistic discipleship to the Lord Jesus in all of life. With the help of the Spirit, we seek to create gatherings and cultivate relationships that help us to integrate the academic, spiritual, and professional growth we experience on campus and align it all towards loving God more totally and loving our neighbors with compassion, wisdom, and skill (Mark 12:29–31). We want to impact every dimension of who you are as a man or woman made in God’s image so that you glorify God through excellently fulfilling the good purpose for which God created you (Eph 2:10).

Discipleship

The Bible never envisions that we would try to follow Jesus alone. Kaleō provides students intentional relationships with faculty and staff to learn from Christ together, to model following him, and to provide encouragement, challenge, and correction to keep on course. Small Groups allow us to pursue Christ in close, supportive partnership with others.

Your Spiritual Life Team

Because every faculty and staff member at HCU is a vital part of fulfilling our mission to catalyze academic, spiritual, and professional excellence that glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ, we’re all members of the Spiritual Life team. But there is a small group of staff that has the privilege of giving day-to-day leadership to creating opportunities for gathered worship, discipleship, and mission for our campus community, guiding students in their spiritual journeys, and equipping our faculty and staff to be faithful and fruitful in fulfilling their callings here at HCU.
