Melissa Medrano
Hello future Huskies!
My name is Melissa Medrano, and it’s truly a blessing to walk with you on your transfer journey to Houston Christian University. I know this season can feel like a big leap, but you’re not alone—I’m here to help every step of the way.
I was born in Ciudad Valles, San Luis Potosi, Mexico and raised in Baytown, Texas, where I learned the value of hard work, faith, and family. I started my college journey at Lee College, so I understand what it’s like to be a transfer student and all the questions that come with it. God has an incredible way of writing our stories, and I never would’ve imagined mine would lead me here—serving students like you. Now, I proudly serve as a Transfer Counselor at HCU, helping students find their purpose and calling.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, playing a little pickleball, and sitting down at the piano. My faith in Jesus Christ is my foundation. I have the honor of serving at my local church, where I get to pour into others just like so many have poured into me.
Whether you’re transferring from a community college, a university, or returning to school after some time away, you’ll find a home at HCU. I believe deeply that God places us where we’re meant to grow, and HCU is the kind of place where your heart, your mind, and your calling can truly come alive. If you have questions about the transfer process, financial aid, choosing a major, or even what life looks like at HCU, please reach out. I can’t wait to meet you and help you discover all that God has in store.
Let’s get you home to HCU, future Husky!
