Mingo Style Guide

Illustrated Mingo is designed to add personality and warmth to informal HCU communications. It complements the HCU brand but should never replace the official university logo, Athletics Husky Head, or other institutional marks.

Approved uses

  • Husky Pups materials
  • children’s activities and coloring books
  • internal employee communications
  • informal web graphics

Mingo should always remain immediately recognizable. Preserve his facial structure, ears, eyes, fur markings, body proportions, paws, line quality, colors, and overall illustration style. New poses, clothing, and expressions are encouraged as long as they remain consistent with the approved character. AI-generated artwork must also faithfully follow the approved reference character.

Rules for Illustrated Mingo use

Maintain character consistency, use approved artwork whenever available, do not use Mingo as an official university identifier, and seek Marketing approval for new illustrations, expanded uses, official printed publications, admissions materials, or institutional merchandise.
