Dr. Levon Hayrapetyan, Professor of Business and Department Chair of Management, Marketing and Business, and Nelli Avetisyan, Mathematics instructor at Wharton County Junior College, published a paper titled “Mathlet as a New Approach for Improving Critical and Creative Thinking Skills in Mathematics “, in the latest edition of a peer-reviewed journal “International Journal of Education Research (IJER)”. In this paper, a new type of conceptual mathematical objects, call mathlets, are introduced and various mathlet-based individual and group activities are proposed to help instructors teach critical thinking skills in a very interactive, engaging and fun atmosphere.
