Culture Influencers: Gardo Blado

Dr. Gardo BladoDr. Gardo Blado, professor in Physics of the College of Science and Mathematics, together with HBU undergraduate students Francisco Herrera (2018) and Joshuah Erwin (2017) will publish their work, “Entanglement and the Generalized Uncertainty Principle,” in the peer-reviewed journal, Physics Essays 31 (2018). This paper is a result of a series of projects completed as part of the research component of the upper level physics courses at HBU. Novel quantum gravity effects on quantum entanglement were derived in the paper.

Last July, 2018, Dr. Blado presented and published his work at the Council on Undergraduate Research Biennial Conference 2018, “Undergraduate Research in a Two-Faculty Physics Department”. His work outlined how the HBU Physics Department has successfully launched a curriculum-based undergraduate research program which has resulted in a number of peer-reviewed physics publications co-authored with undergraduate physics majors and minors.

Dr. Blado published an article on Kenosis at the Flos Carmeli, Winter 2018, volume XXVIII No. 1, 35-36. The short article related the concept of kenosis to Carmelite spirituality. Flos Carmeli is a publication of the Oklahoma Province of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCDS).
