Advanced Opportunities

Students in pre-professional programs can enhance their educational experience by combining their studies with the university’s Honors College. The Health Professions Office provides additional support through workshops, advising, and professional development opportunities. With the only BS degrees in engineering-based programs in the Houston metro area, HCU distinguishes itself by offering unique preparation for students pursuing advanced professional education in a faith-based environment.

    Pre-Health Professions (Pre-Professional)

    Open to all students interested in health professions, this program prepares you for entry into medical or dental schools through classes and activities, including student organizations, trips to medical and dental schools, service projects, and workshops. Tracks included: Chiropractic, Medical/Dental, Optometry, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant.

    Pre-Engineering (Pre-Professional)

    The Pre-Engineering program is for students who wish to pursue an engineering major not offered by HCU.  We set you up for success as an engineer with two years of preliminary study, introducing you to the core components of engineering fields. The track includes math and physics, ultimately preparing them for study in a specialized engineering division.
