Outside Aid

External scholarships, also referred to as outside or private scholarships, constitute educational resources that are not directly provided by HCU. These scholarships primarily originate from churches, organizations, clubs, trusts and foundations. If you receive any outside scholarships from an outside organization, it is important that you forward these funds to HCU directly so that your scholarship can be posted to your student account.

How To View Your Received Scholarships

Access your Husky Net Portal and proceed to the My Student Account section. The TouchNet portal will open, allowing you to review whether you have a Restricted Student Aid (RSA), Church Grant (CG), Church Match (CM), Houston Livestock Rodeo and Show (HRS) or Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT) payment code for the relevant semester. If any of these funds are listed, the scholarship has been successfully placed on your student account.  If the Office of Financial Aid has received the check, we ask for your patience as the office processes. We cannot guarantee that the funds will be credited to your student account in time for payment deadlines.

Outside Scholarships Not Received

If you do not see any of the above funds listed, we recommend contacting the scholarship organization to verify the date, amount and check number, as well as the mailing address to which the check has been sent. This will enable us to locate the check.

Prior to the disbursement of your scholarships, it is important to settle your balance and make payment arrangements with the Office of Student Accounts.

All outside scholarship checks can be delivered in person to the Office of Financial aid. Organizations providing funds must provide the student’s full name and HCU Husky ID number (H#) on each check.
