Financial Aid Deadlines
October 1*
FAFSA becomes available for the 2026-27 academic year. Students may begin submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Be sure to list Houston Christian University’s federal school code: 003576. Applying early increases eligibility for limited funding.
January 15
(Texas – State Priority Deadline) Texas priority deadline to complete the FAFSA and submit all required documentation to be considered for state financial aid programs and priority funding. Incoming and returning students are strongly encouraged to meet this deadline.
June 30
Federal FAFSA deadline for the 2026-27 academic year. FAFSA submissions after priority deadlines may still be processed for federal aid but may limit eligibility for state and institutional funds.
Payment Plans and Deadlines
Payment plans are provided and managed by the HCU Student Account’s Office. Please refer to the Student Accounts website for additional information on payment plan enrollment deadlines, tuition payment deadlines, and how to financially settle your account.
SAP Appeal Deadlines for 2026-2027
** March 13 – Final Deadline
Appeals for the 2025-26 academic year have closed. No appeals will be reviewed after the final deadline for that term.
Summer Term Appeals
March 16 – Appeals Open
April 13 – Priority Deadline
The priority deadline applies to students who are not enrolled in the spring semester and plan to submit an appeal for the summer semester. If a student is placed on suspension after spring semester grades are posted, priority will be given to those who are enrolled in the summer semester.
July 1 – Final Deadline
Appeals submitted after the priority deadline may result in delayed aid processing. No appeals will be reviewed after the final deadline for that term.
Fall Term Appeals
July 3 – Appeals Open
August 3 – Priority Deadline
The priority deadline applies to students who are not enrolled in the summer semester and plan to submit an appeal for the fall semester. If a student is placed on suspension after summer semester grades are posted, priority will be given to those who are enrolled in the fall semester.
