In this episode of “Think About It,” Dr. Marian Zaki, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, sits down with senior Computer Science students, Ryan Barnes and Nadine Ineza, who are completing their degrees in HCU’s College of Science & Engineering. The students share their appreciation for HCU’s small class sizes and family atmosphere and the value of intense project-based learning offered in COSE. The students talk about the opportunity to use knowledge and skills gained at HCU as a part of their Capstone project and now as part-time employees at Houston Crimestoppers. They discuss how they have learned to balance their academic and work schedules as they accessed and analyzed real-world public crime statistics to determine local crime trends.
