The Studio Art minor at Houston Christian University cultivates artistic exploration while upholding standards of creative excellence. Through instruction in drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture and printmaking, students build technical proficiency and artistic vision under dedicated faculty mentors. Program Overview

The 18-credit hour curriculum includes foundational courses in art methods, design theory and art history alongside specialized studio courses in ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture. Through individual work and collaborative critique sessions, students receive valuable feedback from faculty and peers. This balanced approach empowers artists to express their unique perspectives while contributing to the broader artistic community.

  • 2D or 3D Design
  • History of Art (choice of two periods)

Students then explore their creative interests through three studio courses chosen from:
