The HCU custom license plate is an official specialty plate available for vehicles registered in Texas. It’s designed to help you show your Husky pride, support the university and connect with fellow alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends of HCU.

Anyone with a Texas-registered vehicle can purchase an HCU license plate, including alumni, current students, faculty, staff and supporters of the university.

You can order your plate online at MyPlates.com or through your local county tax office. The online process allows you to select your design, personalize your message (if desired), and complete your purchase instantly.

You can purchase an HCU plate at any time; you do not have to wait for your vehicle registration renewal period.

Most passenger vehicles, motorcycles, trailers, and private buses registered in Texas are eligible. Some plate designs may be limited to certain vehicle types.

Yes! For an additional cost (see below), you can personalize your plate with up to 7 characters (letters and/or numbers), depending on the plate design and vehicle type.

Pricing varies depending on the level of personalization and the length of the registration term. For example, a 1-year personalized plate starts at $150, while a 5-year personalized plate can offer significant savings (up to 40% off the annual price). Background-only plates are less expensive, starting at $50 for one year.
