Family Weekend 2024

Friday, October 4 – Saturday, October 5

Registration is now open for Family Weekend 2024! The first 100 adults/students to register receive a spirit item to cheer our Huskies to victory!

Registration Costs:

Adults (ages 12+) – $30.00/person
Children (ages 6 – 11) – $15.00/person (Youth M t-shirt and wristband only)
Children (ages 5 and under) – Free (wristband only, doesn’t include a t-shirt)
HCU current students/ HCU faculty and staff – $15.00/person

Adult/Student Registration Includes:

  1.  A super soft Family Weekend t-shirt
  2.  Wristband to attend the HCU football game and dinner at the Family Weekend Tailgate
  3.  One spirit button to show your HCU pride – Husky Mom, Husky Dad, or Husky spirit
  4.  Admittance to all Family Weekend activities

Registration closes Friday, October 4th.

 

Family Weekend 2024 Schedule

We are so excited to have you join us for Family Weekend. Our goal is to bring our Husky Family to yours! Your registration includes the day on Saturday; however, there are a number of other weekend activities that you are welcome to join, free of charge. As time permits on Saturday, you can explore and participate in as many activities below as you would like. Most are come and go.

Saturday, October 5

  • The HCU Alumni Association will host its 23rd annual Husky Hustle 5K Run & Walk to benefit scholarships. Students, faculty, alumni, and members of the community are welcome to participate in the event. Register here.

  • The HCU Mini Cheer Clinic is designed to introduce participants to HCU Cheer and teach them basic cheer skills and cheer etiquette. The clinic is designed for participants: K-5th Grade. Register here.

  • 1:00PM – 2:00PM: Family Weekend Check-In
    MD Anderson Student Center

    When you arrive to campus, please check-in at the MD Anderson Student Center where you will receive schedule information, your welcome bag & t-shirt, campus map, and wrist band to get into all Family Weekend festivities.

     

  • 1:00PM – 3:00PM: Husky Volleyball Game vs. UT Rio Grande Valley
    Sharp Gym

    Cheer our Husky volleyball team to victory as we challenge UT Rio Grande Valley. Admission is included with your Family Weekend wristband.

  • Campus Tours
    MD Anderson, near Check-In

    Wondering where everything is on campus? Participate in a self-guided campus tour and learn where your student is going to class, eating, and studying. We’ll provide the map with plenty of exciting places to see!

  • Husky Snow Cone Break
    Outside MD Anderson Student Center

    Cool off with a refreshing snow cone from Kona Ice. Cost is included in your registration fee – just wear your Family Weekend wristband.

  • Morris Family Center for Law & Liberty Tours

    Enjoy this self-guided tour through this iconic replica of Independence Hall. This new addition to our Husky campus is a stunning reminder of our country’s legacy and foundation.

  • 1:00PM – 3:00PM: Campus Photo Ops
    MD Anderson Student Center, Soccer Fields, and the University Academic Center

    Don’t miss these exciting Husky photo ops! At MD Anderson, we’ll have our official Family Weekend photo booth set-up in MD Anderson by the Family Weekend check-in tables. Step into the “HUSKIES” at the soccer fields for a silly family picture or embrace HCU’s desire for all to feel welcome at the University Academic Center’s “You Belong Here” mural.

  • Collegium Commuter Lounge

    Join our Commuter Student Team to learn more about this exciting space, exclusively for commuter students. The lounge has been updated for fall 2024, and we are excited to show it off!

    Visit the second floor of the Baugh Center to experience a hallway full of student art, created by students in our very own HCU art classes. The hallway leads you to one of our favorite student spaces, the Corner Pawket.

    Need a break from the excitement? Come to MD Anderson to enjoy live music by HCU students and HCU-themed snacks.  This is the perfect place to hang out in between activities or as an avenue to just sit with your student and hear about their HCU adventure.

  • Museum Exhibits

    HCU is home to three unique museums – Dunham Bible, Southern History, and Decorative Arts. Come explore all of the museums right off of McNair Hall and experience rich biblical and southern history!

Important Information

HCU Campus Map

We’re so excited to have you on campus for Family Weekend 2024! Check-in will be in the MD Anderson Student Center (designated with #5 on the map), so the best places to park are lots 2 and 3. On October 5, families and students are allowed to park anywhere that is not faculty/staff parking.
