Risk management is a crucial component to the Study Abroad Committee’s review of the program proposals. Please review the U.S. Department of State and Center for Disease Control and Prevention when completing this section.
It is important that the faculty sponsor has a clear understanding of the risk related to overseas travel. Many risks can be mitigated through program design, pre-departure education, and consulting local resources in the host country.
Designate if your program location currently listed at a level 3 on the State Departments website or has high risk areas but is a level 1 or 2 country. Please note that travel to level 4 countries is not permitted by HCU and proposals taking place in countries with this rating will not be considered.
