Houston Christian University endeavors to provide reasonable accommodations for students with documented disabilities on a case-by-case basis. Reasonable accommodations are made in accordance with requirements set forth in Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and policies and procedures stated in the Houston Christian University catalog.
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 states that “no otherwise qualified handicapped individual shall, solely by reason of his handicap, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination in any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”
Americans with Disabilities Act (1990) in effect implements Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

These policies took effect as of June 1, 2006 for all students.
