Speak to the culture. Defend the faith.

Those wanting to develop their understanding of cultural, biblical, and philosophical apologetics will enjoy the Apologetics minor in the Department of Apologetics. This minor will help students to understand important challenges to the Christian faith and respond with truth and love.

This minor is appropriate for a wide range of professional callings, as all Christians are called to be able to give reasons for the hope they have in Jesus Christ (1 Peter 3:15). Students will be able to customize the minor to apply apologetics to their particular fields, including literature, philosophy, theology, or popular culture.

Overview and Requirements for the Apologetics Minor

The Apologetics minor at HCU is designed to establish a foundation of logic and apologetics principles, before allowing you flexibility to choose between a focus on philosophical and religious approaches or a more cultural approach.

The program begins with a foundation of one Logic course, an introduction to apologetics, then 6 hours of coursework in classes such as C.S. Lewis and Apologetics and Philosophy of Religion, allowing you to focus on the ideas, arguments and apologetic approach that moves you and moves others.
