Welcome Days is a free, three-day extended orientation program that takes place all around campus led by HCU students who are passionate about making the first year at HCU a success for the freshmen and transfers. Every Pack Leader has valuable personal experience, so they can offer advice about classes, fun things to do in Houston, and anything else you need as you begin your journey as a Husky!
Why Attend Welcome Days?
Welcome Days is an experience that incoming Huskies won’t want to miss. The purpose of Welcome Days is to give students an opportunity to have fun, find your fit, and learn more about life at HCU. We hope that through Welcome Days, students will begin finding their place in the Husky Family prior to classes even starting!
Only the residential students will stay on campus (in their residential spaces). All commuter (off-campus) students will be able to go home each night and return the next day for the Welcome Days fun!
Packs are the groups that you will be placed in so you can get to know some of your fellow Huskies. Each pack is lead by at least 1 upperclassmen student (Pack Leader) and they are there to help you have a great time and get you connected to HCU!
While we love for our entire Husky Family (new and returning students, faculty, staff) and extended family (parents, siblings, friends) to be a part of Welcome Days, we have specific times for the family to participate, then the fun continues with our new Huskies only! Family and Friends are able to attend and participate in the following days and times:
New Freshman Move-In!! (Residential Students Only) (Thursday, August 22nd)
Check-In until the Beanie Ceremony (join us for this wonderful HCU tradition) (Friday, August 23rd)
Welcome Day Lunch (Friday, August 23rd)
Sunday morning Worship Session (Sunday, Aug. 25th)
