Welcome to the HCU Writing Center: Where Huskies do the WRITE Thing! Our dedicated team of Writing Tutors is trained to support and guide you in your writing endeavors. We will provide you with basic writing tips that you can apply to various writing contexts, helping you to enhance your writing skills, refine your techniques, and overcome any writing challenges you may face. MLA Formatting Workshop

September 16, 2025 — 12:00 p.m.
This workshop provides hands-on instruction for properly formatting academic papers and citing sources using MLA (Modern Language Association) style. Students will learn to create in-text citations, Works Cited pages, and format their documents according to current MLA Guidelines.

APA Formatting Workshop

October 14, 2025 — 12:00 pm
This workshop provides hands-on instruction for properly formatting academic papers and citing sources using APA (American Psychological Association) style. Students will learn to create in-text citations, reference pages, and format their documents according to current APA guidelines.

MS  Word and Google Docs for Academic Writing

November 11, 2025 @ 12:00 pm
This workshop introduces essential features of MS Word and Google Docs for academic writing, including document formatting, collaborative tools like track changes and comments, and built-in citation generators. Students will gain practical skills for creating professional documents, receiving feedback, and managing their writing projects efficiently in both platforms.

Fundamentals of Academic Writing

This online workshop covers the fundamentals of academic writing, including thesis development, paragraph structure, evidence integration, and formal tone. Students will learn to construct clear arguments, properly incorporate sources, and develop the critical thinking and writing skills essential for college-level coursework.
