Our goal is to make transferring to HCU as easy as possible. Whether you plan to start at HCU in the fall or spring, we have developed a timeline to help guide you through the application process. HCU has rolling admissions, but the sooner you apply, the better!  Select your entry term below for guidance on what you need to be doing each month as you prepare to become a HCU Husky.

Transfer Timeline

August

  • Application opens for fall and spring semesters.
  • Complete an application for transfer admission.
  • Request transcripts from all colleges you have attended be sent to HCU.

October

  • Submit your FAFSA to Houston Christian University using our school code 003576.

November

December

  • Financial aid awards and notifications are released for all admitted transfer students for the fall semester. Check My Financial Aid in HuskyNet for information and details.

February

  • Attend Husky Preview to see what being a Husky is all about.
  • Make your enrollment deposit. This saves your spot in the incoming class and gets you an “I’m a Husky” t-shirt!

March

  • Deadline for fall nursing applicants to submit required documents for admission review.
  • March 1 priority deposit deadline.
  • On-campus and off-campus housing applications are released to deposited students.
  • Registration opens for summer transfer orientation.

April

  • Turn in your meningitis vaccination form (required by the State of Texas) for those under the age of 22.
  • Nursing admissions decisions are released.

June

  • Request your final fall and spring college transcripts (showing all grades) be sent to HCU.
  • Attend one of our transfer orientations.

August

  • Move into your residence hall.
  • Attend Welcome Days.
  • Start classes.

August

  • Application opens for fall and spring semesters.
  • Complete an application for transfer admission.
  • Request transcripts from all colleges you have attended be sent to HCU.

September

  • Deadline for spring nursing application and requirements: September 15.
  • Turn in your meningitis vaccination form (required by the State of Texas).
  • Fill out or update the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and be sure to send the report to HCU, school code 003576.

October

November

Attend spring orientation to be advised and register for classes.

December

If you took fall classes, request your final college transcript be sent to HCU.

January

Classes start.
