Come cheer with the HCU Cheerleaders

The HCU Mini Huskies Cheer Clinic is designed for participants K-8th Grade, ages 5-14 to introduce them to HCU Cheer and teach them basic cheer skills and cheer etiquette. Mini Huskies will also learn a routine to perform with the HCU Cheerleaders during the Halftime Show of the Women’s Basketball game later that day.

Clinic: 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. (Location TBA)
Performance: Women’s Basketball game at 1:00 p.m.
Cost: $40 and includes

Mini Huskies Cheer Clinic Details

Time

Clinic will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. See “schedule” tab for further details.

Location

Clinic will be held on the HCU campus in the Dillon II Ballroom located in the Hinton Building which is located at 7502 Fondren Rd. Houston, TX 77074

  • Use the main entrance (gate 1) on Fondren Road. There will be signs directing participants towards the clinic
  • Parking will be in Lot 2 in front of the Brown Academic Center

8:45 a.m.: Check-In starts: Parent/Guardian must be present during check-in to complete liability form.

9:00- 11:00 a.m.: Clinic

10:45 a.m.: Parents/Guardians can come back for a showcase to see what your participant has learned!

11:00 a.m.: Dismissed for lunch on your own

1:00 p.m.: All participants report to Sharp Gym. See “performance information” section for details

2:00 p.m.: Mini Huskies Cheerleaders perform* 

*Time is an approximation and may be slightly earlier or later depending on the game

 

Clinic Attire

  • Comfortable T-shirt for clinic
  • Black bottoms (athletic shorts or yoga/legging pants)
  • Athletic shoes
  • Hair should be pulled back out of the face with an optional cheer bow for girls (white, blue, or orange)
  • No jewelry should be worn throughout the duration of the clinic

Performance Attire

  • Clinic t-shirt

  • Families attending are encouraged to wear HCU attire or white to join in the white out theme for the student section for the game
  • All participants and families will sit in a pre-designated section for the first half of the game
  • All participants will be taken down to the court by the cheerleaders when it’s time to get ready for the Halftime Show!
  • Once the performance is complete, participants will be escorted to the bleachers with parents/guardians to watch the remainder of the game
  • All participants and families are welcome to stay in the designated section for the remainder of the game or move to another section, if desired, to cheer on the Huskies!
  • Registration fee includes game ticket for participants but does not include parent/guardian entry into the game. Purchase additional tickets in advance or tickets may be purchased at the gate beginning one hour prior to the game’s scheduled start time (1:00 p.m.)
  • Registration through February 7th guarantees requested t-shirt size
  • $50 for late registrations beginning February 7th (No refunds will be given). For late or walk-in registrations, shirts are not guaranteed
