Minor in Theology

Houston Christian University’s Christianity Theology minor explores the depth and complexity of Christian theological thought through a carefully crafted 18-hour program. This curriculum begins with foundational courses in Hermeneutics and Theological studies, advancing through explorations of Christian history and systematic theology. Through courses such as Christian Ethics and Baptist History, students develop critical thinking skills while engaging with complex theological concepts and their contemporary applications.

The Christianity Theology minor equips students with versatile analytical and interpretive skills valuable across numerous career paths and academic pursuits. This program particularly enhances studies in other disciplines by providing ethical frameworks and historical perspectives that inform fields such as education, business, law, and social services.

Many graduates have pursued advanced degrees in theology, divinity, or religious studies, while others have applied their theological training to other careers. The program’s integration of historical, ethical and systematic theological study prepares students to engage thoughtfully with contemporary scholarly and cultural challenges while maintaining a strong foundation in Christian tradition.
